Job Scope KEY JOB PURPOSE
  • Responsible for Data Center infrastructure operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the operations of Data Centre (DC) facility, providing technical support and consultancy for existing and new Data Centre developments.
  • Support DC infrastructure operation, such as coordinating annual DC maintenance activities, assessment and allocation of IT rack and space, power distribution unit.
  • Perform routine check in DCs to ensure physical and system security compliance.
  • Report and coordinate with the service owner or contractor for servicing or maintenance activity.
  • Escort contractors or vendor to facilitate maintenance, repair.
  • Coordinate and liaise with the existing operation team and building management department for recovery action in the event of building services faults.
  • Monitor DC equipment movement to ensure system owners and contractor conduct system racking or un-racking in accordance with DC procedure.
  • Manage visitor access to DC, ensure users are authorized and adhere to visitor recording the DC Access procedure.
  • Manage registration or revocation of DC user in the DC security access control systems and ensure regular audit reports are generated and review by the authorizing officer.
  • Manage and ensure the inventory of all racks and systems are kept up to date.
  • Prepare Power Usage Effectiveness reporting for management review.
  • Monitor, review and report service availability, system health, and resource utilization to stakeholders.
  • Automate operations with modernized tools to ensure consistent and predictable outcome.
  • Support in updating of SOP and working instructions.

Requirements FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Diploma level and above in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Building Services, with good communication skill.
  • Field of study: Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Building Services, with good communication skill.
  • Familiar with day-to-day DC operations and experienced in planning and managing DC infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with Data centre services and operations
  • At least 2 years of experience in data centre infrastructure management.
  • Project management experience in infrastructure or estate management.
  • Familiar with modern automation tools for data centre.
  • Adapting approach and demeanour in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
  • Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
